Overview
Meals
Each fully registered candidate will be provided two meal vouchers. These vouchers can be used on campus for lunch at the University of Memphis.
Computers
A limited number of computers, with Internet access, will be available in the Holiday Inn and Fogelman Executive Center University of Memphis to assist candidates and employers in the job search process.
Deadlines
Early registration ends Friday January 30, 2009. After that date the candidate fee will increase from $40 to $50 and the employer option 1 and 2 registration fee will increase by $50. Online registrations end for Employers and Candidates on Friday March 6, 2009. Everything after that date will occur on-site in Memphis.
Airport Shuttle Service
Courtesy shuttle service will be available for candidates and employers between the Memphis International Airport and the Holiday Inn and Fogelman Executive Center University. You must indicate you need this service when you make your hotel reservation.
Closing Reception
The closing reception is made possible by employers sponsoring the social. This is open to everyone who is registered for SPE. Employers who sponsor the social will be recognized in the newsletter, on the website, and at the event for help in sustaining the Southern Placement Exchange. The cost for sponsorship is $200 and will be an option for employers on the registration form.

If you are flying into Memphis, you may wish to make arrangements for taxi service. The following services are available: Yellow Cab (901) 577-7777 and Metro Cab (901) 323-3333.

When You Arrive
Your first stop at the Holiday Inn and Fogelman Executive Center University of Memphis will be the Registration Center. You will receive a packet of information, including nametag(s). Hotel check-in begins after 3pm.
Volunteering
The Southern Placement Exchange works best when we have volunteers to help our limited Southern Placement Exchange Host Committee do their job. Volunteers are needed in the Message Center, Resource Center and Scheduling Center. If you are interested in volunteering some of your time please make sure to stop by the volunteer table located in the Message Center. You will be asked to work in 2-3 hour blocks. Please keep this opportunity in mind as you develop your schedule.
Briefings
An informational briefing will be held for all candidates and employers. The first scheduled time will be Thursday evening and then the exact same session will be repeated again Friday morning. Please check the schedule for specific times and locations. All candidates and employers should plan to attend one of the two sessions. Important and helpful information about the placement exchange will be given, and questions and concerns will be addressed at that time. |
